IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team has received a verbal commitment from a 2026 defensive lineman from the Minneapolis area.
Sawyer Jezierski, who attends Edina High School, announced his commitment to Iowa Tuesday on social media.
The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Jezierski made an official visit to Iowa this past weekend.
“What made up my mind about Iowa is the genuine relationships I built with the coaching staff,” Jezierski said via a text message. “On top of that, the culture, development and tradition at Iowa just felt like the right fit for me.”
Ranked as a three-star recruit, three-star, Jezierski chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Boston College, Kansas State, Washington State, Wyoming, Army, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, South Dakota, and South Dakota State.
Jezierski is the 10th player to commit to Iowa’s 2026 recruiting, and the first defensive lineman.
