2026 Iowa City West legacy recruit Julian Manson commits to Iowa football
By Hawk Fanatic
Iowa City, Iowa – The Iowa football team was thought to maybe have a recruiting advantage with 2026 athlete Julian Manson, and that would prove true as the Hawkeye legacy recruit committed to Iowa on Tuesday.
Manson attends Iowa City West High School and is the son of former Iowa quarterback Jason Manson, who is now the Director of Player Development for the Iowa football team.
“Staying home,” Julian Manson said on social media.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Julian Manson is the third player to commit to Iowa’s 2o26 recruiting class since the Hawkeyes hosted a recruiting event this past weekend. He could play multiple positions in college, but Iowa is reportedly recruiting him as a linebacker.
“The best athlete in Iowa could play a number of positions,” said veteran recruiting analyst Tom Lemming, who ranks Julian Manson as a four-star prospect. “He’s got great length, reactions, speed and high football IQ. Terrific all-around athlete.”
Julian Manson joins Michigan defensive back Ronnie Hill and and Sioux City linebacker Kasen Thomas as players who have committed to Iowa’s 2026 recruiting class since this past Sunday.
