2026 Georgia LB Billy Weivoda commits to Iowa football
By Hawk Fanatic
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team has added another linebacker to its 2026 recruiting class as Georgia native Billy Weivoda committed to Iowa on Friday.
The three-star recruit from Alpharetta, Georgia is the third linebacker to commit to Iowa’s 2026 recruiting class in the last week, joining Sioux City native Kasen Thomas and Iowa City native Julian Manson.
Weivoda, who is listed at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, picked Iowa over reported scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Memphis, Marshall, New Mexico, Jacksonville State, South Florida and Virginia Teach among others.
Weivoda attends football powerhouse Milton High School, which has won three Georgia state titles since 2018, including in each of the past two seasons. Milton also finished as a state runner-up in 2021.
“Traveling a little bit under the radar, but the Hawkeyes really like his athletic ability and potential,” veteran recruiting analyst Tom Lemming said of Wievoda.
