2026 Norwalk athlete Eli Robbins commits to Iowa football as preferred walk-on
By Hawk Fanatic
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Norwalk athlete Eli Robbins is the latest player to commit to the Iowa football team’s 2026 recruiting class.
He announced his commitment to Iowa Tuesday on social media, and is expected to start his college career as a preferred walk-on.
“I’m home,” the 6-foot, 190-pound Robbins said on Instagram.
Robbins plays both receiver and defensive back for his high school team, but he is expected to play defensive backs for the Hawkeyes.
He reportedly compiled 2,736 total yards and 27 offensive touchdowns over the past two seasons, along with 58 tackles and six interceptions on defense.
Robbins picked Iowa over at least 10 reported scholarship offers from schools that include Air Force, Army, Wyoming, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Illinois State, Northern Iowa and Western Illinois.
Robbins is the third player from Iowa to accept a preferred walk-on opportunity in the 2026 class, joining Waukee receiver Isaiah Oliver and Fort Dodge defensive back Noah Daniel.
Isaiah Oliver is the son of former Iowa point guard Dean Oliver.
