Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Cody Fox has left the Iowa football team.

“Cody decided to walk away from football,” Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said Thursday at Big Ten Media Day in Las Vegas. “Great kid.”

A former four-star recruit in Iowa’s 2024 recruiting class, Fox was not listed on Iowa’s two-deep depth chart during spring practice.

The 2024 graduate of East Buchanan High School saw his only action in Iowa’s 40-0 victory over Illinois State in the 2024 season opener.
