IOWA CITY, Iowa – Brett White is coming home.
The former Solon High School multi-sport standout announced Friday on social media that he’s transferring to Iowa to play baseball for head coach Rick Heller and the Hawkeyes.
“Back in the 319,” White posted on social media.
White, who plays in the infield, was redshirted at Baylor this past season.
“It’s great that Brett will be a Hawkeye,” Heller said in a text message. “He’s definitely our type of player. Brett plays the game hard and for all the right reasons. We are looking forward to having Brett with us.”
White earned a combined 13 varsity letters in baseball, football, basketball and track and field in high school.
He finished his high school baseball career with a .400 batting average, a .580 on-base percentage, 103 extra-base hits and 29 home runs.
