Daniel Carson sees hard work pay off with offer from Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Three-star defensive end Daniel Carson grew up wanting to play big-time college football.
The Independence, Mo., native is in position to achieve that goal after compiling an impressive list of scholarships offers, including one from Iowa on Friday.
"It feels really good and amazing that my talent from God is being recognized," Carson said. "It's crazy to think that the Hawkeyes want me and growing up I have always dreamed to play big. I just have to thank God. It's an amazing feeling."
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Carson wants to focus on his junior year of high school before narrowing his offer list.
"Being honest, I don't really have rankings," Carson said. "I'm just trying to finish my junior year and take care of business before I rank schools."
Carson said the Iowa coaches like his athleticism and think he would fit nicely on defense.
"I'm very versatile and I am explosive and fast," Carson said. "I have good feet and I fit into the scheme that is at Iowa."
Carson doesn't know much about Iowa, but is eager to learn more about the school from an academic and football standpoint. He has been impressed by what he's heard from Iowa director or recruiting Tyler Barnes.
"Well, they have had great athletes come from there and I loved the way coach Barnes talked to me," Carson said. "He sounds like a great guy. I don't really know a lot about Iowa."
Carson also reportedly has scholarship offers from Georgia, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State and Oklahoma.
